A special place.

I am a person who gets easily drained and exhausted from being around other people. For which I need a restful, comfortable space that can help me recharge myself. In short, I am an introvert who doesn’t like the hustle and bustle around and relish quite time at home.

My special place is and has always been my home. Though the physical form of home kept changing from time to time. As I made my point quite clear in my earlier blog- Home is where the heart is.

Two years ago me and my husband decided to move into a bigger apartment. Earlier we had a two room set in the center of the city. When we decided to shift, the decision didn't came easy as we got attached with the place which we called our home and had spent  five beautiful years of our life.

While search, we found many options disastrous, some hilarious, some better but still didn't match our requirements. After lots of trouble we found one decent place. Its truly not easy finding an apartment for family within budget in the  big city but somehow we manged to find one. It was like finding needle in haystack...

Home ... Its a place where I spend most of my time and never get exhausted. A place where I feel free and can truly be myself.

A home is not the walls or the furniture but the people who you share it with but one cannot deny that interiors do have an impact on our well-being.

We all have a favourite place in our homes that we feel particularly drawn to i.e. kitchen, dining room, living room or couch in the living room, comfy chair near the bookshelf, stairs, table with laptop on, lobby, balcony, terrace or small garden...

As it's a very individual thing, I am drawn towards my balcony. Though I love everything about my home as it's part of my identity but still a part of me feels relaxed when I am out and little closer to nature.

I felt the connection when I realized that more time I spend admiring nature more satisfaction I got.

Albert Einstein said, "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."

So is my case... For me, it's refreshing to see the birds, clouds, trees, sun rises and sun sets. Simply appreciating the nature, the sound of wind, chirping of birds, the formations of clouds, waves formed on the farms with the wind, patterns of flying birds, changing colours of sky gives me energy.

I find every single thing pleasing.  But one dialoge from a movie Flipped cmpletely blew me away,

"A painting is more than the sum of its parts, the cow by itself is just a cow, and the meadow by itself is just grass and flowers, and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but put them all together and you've got magic."

Now when I see and feel all the individual things together its like Magic that cannot be described in words and when you feel it more you want to absorb it.

To Live in a urban jungle where everything is made of concrete, was my biggest nightmare but by the grace of God, I found an escape...

Taking out few minutes from my hectic schedule just to feel nature being inside my own home works wonders for me every single time.

On a sunny day, few minutes after sunset.

Monsoon time, it started raining soon after.

A perfectly green day.

Beautiful clouds at the time of sunset.

Feels like cotton candy spread all over the sky.

No single cloudy day is similar.

I could see lightning and rain, the view was perfect to brighten up my day.

The cool breeze and lights in combination is best tonic for stress...

If you are thinking what a delight to witness little magic on daily basis then you should continue reading... Because further I am going for its ugly side.

A special place is just one side of the coin other is about to be unveiled which is abysmal.

This is a regular site after Baisakhi, a harvest festival. It's the main festival of farmers here in North India.

The site in the video is of Stubble burning, deliberate setting fire of the straw stubble that remains after wheat and other grains have been harvested. Farmers burn the paddy stubble as it involves no cost.

The toxic chemicals in form of smoke amalgamate in the air which result in respiratory problems.

Its just one video, all the golden color you see was burned with few days gap and the view was all black...

My favorite place is now  dull as I don't visit it. The moment I go out in the balcony, the air quality is so bad that I start coughing hard like an asthma patient.

Few days back I had normal cough and took regular medicines but when things started getting worse, I was tensed and after hectic days and sleepless nights I decided to visit ENT specialist. I told him that its been a month and I see no signs of relief moreover I feel shortness of breath, to my surprise he told me about Bronchitis and how common it is around these days and it's been two weeks taking medicines, I see little signs of relief but still not cured. I still feel a burning sensation in my nostrils and inner upper portion of throat whenever I am out.

Though erring farmers have been warned by the state authorities, they continue with this practice.

I can see the person making fire covering his nose and mouth with a cloth. He is trying to save himself from the toxic fumes. What an idiot!! A single spark is enough to burn a house and a single farm burning is enough to make weeks worse...

He is doing something whose effect is going to harm for days and everyone who's around in certain diameter...even him and his family...

I haven't visited my special place from last one month. The birds keep calling, I can no more feel the wind on my face. The fresh air is no more fresh. I do witness the changing hues but staying behind the window.

The special place has loosen its charm...

Its been few days that the things are getting better. I see farmers preparing farms for next crop. They water  the farms regularly now. So hopefully soon I'll get me time with nature...

It's heavenly... I get to see parallel building and balconies. Nature for me is my small garden in balcony.
